Wavlink Range Extender Setup

The first thing you have to do is to connect the extender into the wall socket within the vicinity of the host router. So that, you can connect both extender & router without any cable in a hassle-free manner.

There are two methods of setting up your Wavlink WiFi range extender: WPS method and web-based interface method. Let’s learn both the methods.

How to Setup Wavlink Extender through WPS?

  • Power On the extender near your main router. Power LED will turn solid within 5 to 10 seconds.

  • Next, push WPS button on your router for 10 seconds. The WPS LED on your router will start blinking.
  • After a gap of 2 minutes, push the WPS button on your Wavlink extender. The extender's WPS/Signal LED will start blinking.

  • After a few seconds, the Signal/LED indicator on the extender should become solid. This will indicate that the connection is established successfully.

Now, you can relocate Wavlink extender in your house., but it should be plugged in the midway between your router and the area with poor signal.

How to Connect After WPS Link?

Use the host router’s username and password to connect your device with the Wavlink extender’s WiFi network.

  • Look for the network like “routernetwork_EXT”.
  • Use the same password as your router network to connect.

How to Configure Wavlink WiFi Extender via Web Interface?

  • Plug it into a wall outlet near your main router. Wait for the power LED to turn solid.
  • Navigate and open an updated web browser on your connected device.
  • Type the default IP address of the Wavlink extender, which is 192.168.10.1 or wifi.wavlink.com or ap.setup. Press Enter.

  • A login page will appear. Here, enter the username and password (admin default). Username: admin and password: admin.
  • To make sure that it is correct, look for the admin or login credentials in the user manual or label.
  • Once you are logged in, select the Repeater mode to set the device as extender. And then choose your host router network.

  • Next adjust the wireless settings by entering the new WiFi name and password. Or, you can either choose host router network credentials.

Outdoor Wavlink WiFi Repeater Setup

There is only one method that you can use to setup the outdoor Wavlink WiFi repeater with your host router, i.e. Web Wizard on your computer.

Outdoor Wavlink Repeater Setup

Before beginning the repeater’s installation, you should select the spot for the device and connect its power cord to a working wall socket.

Use the LAN (POE) cable and plug it into the POE IN port of the extender. Plug the other end into the POE port of the converter. Connect its power cord to the working wall outlet and power it on.

Now, let’s configure it with the help of the web wizard on your computer.

How to Configure Outdoor Wavlink Extender via Web Wizard?

  • Connect to the Extender’s default WiFi. On your computer go to Wi-Fi settings. Connect to the default WiFi network. No password is needed for this initial connection.
  • Launch any browser, type the default IP address in the address bar: 192.168.10.1. Press Enter.
  • Login to the Extender with the help of the admin default Username: admin and Password: admin.

  • Then start the Setup Wizard. On the home screen, click "Repeater Mode". The extender will scan for nearby WiFi networks.
  • You will get to the next page where you should choose your main WiFi network from the list. Enter your router’s WiFi password.

  • Ensure the extender is plugged in and the power LED is on. Try a different outlet. Check that the device isn’t overheating or physically damaged.
  • Reboot your device by Unplugging the extender, wait 10–15 seconds, plugging it back in and allow it to reboot.
  • Place the extender halfway between your router and the area with poor coverage. Avoid placing it near thick walls, microwaves, or metal objects.
  • Reset your extender device. use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes.

Can’t Log in to Wavlink WiFi Extender

  • Check Default IP Address or Web URL. Try accessing the extender's settings page via: 192.168.10.1 or ap.setup. Also, make sure you are connected to the extender's network.
  • Ensure your device is connected to the Wavlink extender’s WiFi, not your main router. If unsure, look for a network like Wavlink_EXT, Wavlink_XXXX.
  • Sometimes browser cache prevents the login page from loading. Try incognito/private mode or switch to another browser.
  • If WiFi isn’t working, connect the extender to your PC via Ethernet and try accessing 192.168.10.1.

Cannot Connect with Extender Network

  • Must check the extender's placement. If the extender is placed too far from your main router, it won't get a strong enough signal to rebroadcast. Place the extender halfway between your router and the area with weak signal.
  • Restart your extender, router, and the device you're trying to connect. This can clear temporary connectivity issues.
  • Forget and Reconnect to Network On your phone, laptop, or other device: Go to Wi-Fi settings > Forget the extender’s network > Reconnect by selecting the extender's SSID and re-entering the password.

Forgot the admin credentials or WiFi password

Reset your extender device. use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes. After the reset, access the interface wizard with the help of the default admin credentials and change the WiFi password.

Extender can't deliver full speed due to Interference
